My weekend

June 14, 2009

Okay, not a fantastically exciting post, but a little update of how my nice relaxing weekend was:

Spent the weekend at my lady’s aprents place in Kettering, fed up to the eyeballs, reading action thrillers by David Baldacci and 1970s Sci-Fi trilogies. All good fun. Also booked my train ticket to Bristol for our holiday at the end of July which should be muchos fun!

That reminds me, will have to bring up in the Feedback meeting to morrow about organising someone going to the Birmingham Music Network meeting before the end of the month. And also see how the flyers are doing.

Anyhoo, off to bed for me and I get to look forward to 9-5 days this week as a colleague is on holiday so I have to be in standard hours instead of flexing off.

Which is naff.

My Weekend

May 19, 2008

Well, went to the cinema for a date with my lovely lady Laura. We went to see In Bruge. It is awesome, so if it is still showing in your local cinema, go see it NOW!! We had to go see it in the Electric Cinema in Birmingham, which is an independent cinema, and incidentally the oldest working cinema in the UK!

Saturday was spent mostly playing G.R.A.W. on the Xbox 360, very good game, but I do like the improvements they made in G.R.A.W. 2 which make it feel just a bit slicker and less “clunky”. After that, it was time for a bit of a lazy evening watch Season 2 of The Unit. Its like a nice compact action movie with plot, side-stories and intrigue in a 45mins slot. Can’t go wrong with that!

Sunday was fairly dull. Laura, James (my housemate) and I were all bored by the afternoon so we hopped to Blockbuster and rented 3 movies – Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox story, Black Snake Moan and what is, to date, the worst movie I’ve seen – I Could Never Be Your Woman.

We rented this movie on the basis of the advert playing in store (a big mistake in hindsight. I used to work in the store, and I know that they only advertise the crap to make some money out of it!) which had a line that made us all laugh.

That was the only decent bit of the whole film.

I would go into it more, but that would mean trying to recollect what I have watched, and I’ve already tried my best to repress the memory.

But apart from that, good weekend, had fun, did very little.

Don’t forget to go to onemorelevel for some cool flash games to play. I personally recommend The Last Stand: Part II. Play the first one and its more of the same zombie gore in game form. Plus they have a new game for you to play every weekday. Well worth it.
